Another thing that has been on my mind as of late. I use to say that the end is near because we have accomplished our goal of spreading the Gospel. It's available in a multitude of platforms all over the world. Sadly, and what I did not account for, is that people have to be exposed to the Gospel by true believers and see how His work in us has so greatly enriched our lives. Simply providing copies of the Bible is not enough. For it to truly have meaning to others, they must see the evidence of it in our lives if it is to have any meaningful impact in their lives.
James 4:4 "You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God."
Therein, I think, lies the problem with the church in this era. We need to live in but not be a part of the issues of this world. Where in the bible does it talk about Jesus getting involved in political and social issues (other than feeding and helping the poor)? Don't we, as Christians, have enough on our plate with trying to spread the word and help so many people in need? I'm probably more guilty than most. Far to much time spent on worrying about who's in office and what others are doing as apposed to what I am doing and who I am helping. If I don't have my (spiritual) house in order, how can I possibly speak out against what others are doing?

My wife has recently passed away. She was in Hospice care and had COPD, two heart attacks, one stroke, had hip replacements in both hips, arthritis and was on dialysis. Due to her numerous medical conditions I was unable to buy her life insurance. I was her caregiver for over 8 years (when she became disabled) even though I am disabled as well. Now I am left with funeral costs and massive medical bills. I know that there are many others in need as well so any money that you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Deborah, the light of my life, passed away in her sleep last night. I know that right now God is welcoming her in to heaven where she and I will eventually meet and share in God's glorious and abiding love forever and ever.
