We are on the front lines in a war with Satan. There are some who serve the enemy willingly and they are easy to spot by their behavior. They are others who don't believe in God or Satan but "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." (Mathew 12:30). In my opinion, the worst of these are actually those who think that they serve God but are either to complacent or to caught up in the world to make any difference to our mission. In fact, they usually do more damage to our cause in the way that they portray themselves. They can quote scripture, they are usually very "religious" and they are also very active (in most cases) in politics.
We are undermined daily by false Christians who go out in to the world and use God as  an excuse to spread hatred, divisiveness and false doctrine. We must be forever vigilant to guard against these people and expose them. They can do a great amount of damage in a very short time. They will try and infiltrate good groups and seek to distract us from spreading the good news. Satan doesn't need to destroy you, he just needs to make us ineffective. As long as we keep our eyes on Jesus, he cannot prevail against us.

If Jesus reteurned tomorrow

If you knew, for a fact, that Jesus was coming back tomorrow what would you do differently? Hopefully your answer was nothing. If you are not already living as if Jesus could come back this very moment, you might have to examine your life more closely.
This is not a call to take part in any actions that you think would put you in better standing with God. We know that His grace is already sufficient. It simply means that God has already accepted us with all of our imperfections. We should be satisfied that although there are always things that we could do better, He has already made the sacrifice that has made us holy in His sight. That is why I can say with assuredness that although I am and never will be perfect in this lifetime, I am always ready to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior (and my fellow brothers and sisters). All praise and glory to God.
Democrats to conservatives “Shut up!”. Republicans to conservatives “Shut up!”. I can understand the democrats attitude towards us but it has taken me a while to figure out the republicans attitude.
They know we will never vote for a democrat so most conservatives will hold their nose and vote for a republican. We are told that a vote for an independent will be the same as voting for a democrat because it takes a vote away from a republican. They know that we can be freely insulted because they feel we have no choice but to vote for them.
Wrong. Next election I’ll vote for an independent because I can no longer trust republicans to adhere to any type of values (except ones that will get them elected). I will no longer sacrifice my ideals to support people who will sell me out on a whim. If that means it will cost republicans an election, that’s on them, not me. There used to be a significant difference between the two parties but now, today’s republicans are exactly the same as a semi conservative democrat.

Worry not about Tomorrow

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Mathew 6:34. I think some people misconstrue this to mean that they should not worry about things like their jobs, bills and so on. This passage to me says that we should not worry about those things that we CAN'T control.
As Christians, we need to show our maturity by working diligently to make sure we take care of our families, do our jobs to the best of our abilities, and first and foremost, being a servant towards others as Jesus has commanded us to do.
"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” - Galatians 5:13-14.
When this passage talks about not worrying about tomorrow, it is referencing things that we can't control. "What if my health gets worse and I can't work? What if I my car breaks down and I have no money to fix it?" These are the types of things that we leave in God's capable hands. If we have full trust and faith in God we know that He will take care of us. Worrying not only affects our health (stress) but can damage our relationship with our family and friends. If God can create the entire universe, I seriously doubt that He will have any trouble seeing to our needs. They answers might not come to us as we anticipate but be assured the answers will come. ~  dg

Don't argue with atheists

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" Mathew 11:28. I think a lot of Christians need to read this passage again. I visit many other forums where I see Christians arguing with atheists and people of other faiths. This is not only counter productive but hurts our relationship with God. We are called to spread the word of God, not to try and force it on people.
You don't come to Christ on an intellectual level but a spiritual one. No amount of arguing or cajoling is going to influence one person to accept Christ. He ask us to come to Him, not to chase people down and try to force them down the path. They should WANT to seek a relationship with God. So the next time you feel obliged to answer the insults and derogatory comments of others, remember this passage and bless them instead of cursing them. "If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you" (Proverbs 25:21-22). ~ dg

Why do Christians act as if Satan is more concerned with them than God is? We are being constantly warned to watch out for Satan's attacks and that we should be aware that he is always trying to deceive and trick us, which is true. When it comes to God, we act like we have to beg and plead for His help and attention. We act as if we don't pray the right way or behave a certain way that God will not help us. In other words, Satan is more attentive towards us than God.
"Your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Mathew 6:8). Instead of coming to God in the position that we need His help with our problems, we should already be thanking Him for all that He has done for us and will continue to do for us. We come to Him from a position of power. We come to God knowing that He ALREADY has our best interests in heart. While He wants us to pray for help and guidance, just as any parent wants to hear about what concerns His children, He also wants us to know in our hearts that He will always take care of us. I don't pray that God will help me with all of my problems, I thank Him for already helping me with the things that are troubling me. In my strife, I am humbled and am made more aware of His grace.

The government wants to use the law so that anyone who has shown any mental instability at any point in their lives can be denied the right to buy a gun. It is deplorable that these same people do not use the same energy to look after children. God is surely weeping at our callous disregard for the lives of our children.
Our society seems much more interested in destroying a child than raising it. Abortion and birth control come up far more often than child rearing. I know it's a slippery slope but two people who are constantly in trouble with the law and have serious drug issues should not be allowed to have children until they clean up their act.

Divine Intervention?

I want try try and look at things from God's perspective. Why are you blaming me for all of the bad things that take place here? There are over 5 BILLION people on this planet and yet whenever disaster strikes, all I hear is why didn't I do something about it. If you could all just put aside your petty bickering there would be no hunger, war and any deaths from natural disasters could be almost non existent.
I am more than happy to help those who need it, but when I see countless people who watch endless hours of TV, spend endless hours on their computer or whatever trivial pursuit their minds can come up with, and on top of all that they have the audacity to blame ME for all their problems, it is frustrating.
I put everyone on this earth and gave them the free will to do what they want. That many people chose to waste their lives in selfish pursuits is their decision. So next time you feel inclined to blame God for the bad things in life, ask yourself "What have I personally done to help those in need?" If the answer is nothing, just look in the mirror and you will see who's responsible for many of the bad things in life. You might not have committed any of these things, but by doing nothing you are just as guilty as those who have.
